An Organized Bathroom is Heaven on Earth!
Bathrooms are often cited as the least loved room in many homes. However, even the smallest bathroom can rejuvenate and capture the peaceful aspects of a spa-like retreat. Here’s how:
- Maximize Storage. Acrylic organizers, trays and risers in drawers and medicine cabinets can maximize space and let’s face it, they keep lotions and potions organized and looking great. Roll-out wire baskets or pull-outs under sinks or in linen closets can be used for a variety of items from toilet paper to towels and washcloths, to soap and hair or cleaning products. In small bathrooms (and most homes have at least one teeny tiny bath or powder room), the back of the door can be your new best friend. Think vertical. Look up!
- Remove unused, unloved or expired personal products. Check expiry dates – especially on sunscreen. If you love trying new products (and what girl doesn’t?), consider giving barely used items to friends or other family members. Just because it doesn’t work for you, doesn’t mean it won’t work for them!
- Commit to keeping the space clean. Not only does this prevent the spread of germs, infection and illness, it promotes relaxation and a sense of well-being. Picture yourself in a restaurant’s dirty bathroom. How does it make you feel? Now flip the switch to a sparkling clean and well organized bathroom. Notice a difference in how you feel? A clean bathroom makes a huge difference. Your body and mind will thank you.
- Decorate for harmony and function. Keep your counters clear and uncluttered. Use mirrors to reflect light and decorative objects that are easy to rinse clean.
